Removing Tapatalk Ad Hoc Profiles

Since I've had about every Ad Hoc version on my iPhone, I have a ton of old profiles that I can't seem to get rid of. I have deleted them and as soon as I sync with iTunes, they come back.

Could you please tell me how to permanently remove these profiles? I'm guessing it's not an issue with the iPhone or the Tapatalk app, it is a problem with iTunes and Sync'ing.

Yeah man I asked this a while back. It doesn't hurt but it bugs the crap out of me. Haaa

I've spent about an hour today trying to research this, but as soon as I posted this thread, I found the answer and I can confirm that it works:

I deleted the profiles on the iPhone again and then did another sync and none of the profiles came back, in fact, the "Profiles" menu item is absent all together.

    I hope this helps :)

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that I deleted the Ad Hoc and purchased the official app from the App Store, so I don't need the profiles anymore.

why would u not want the adhoc version?
i only downloaded the version in the app store to show support and rate the app. adhoc is faster than whats in the store and more stable. why step back, plus they will release future adhocs. we need to test it before it goes to apple.

I never thought of that, lol to late...ha ha.

I'm still finding a few issues here and there that I am posting up in the paid version.

Yeah, I didn't really think of it that way either. I'm not so sure how long they will continue to send is the Ad Hoc versions now that the app is released, or at least once it is fully released. But like you said, now that I have contributed by purchasing the app, I can delete it rate it, then install another Ad Hoc version when and if they release it. I have to install and test the official release though before I make any announcements on my boards.

At least I now know how to get rid of those old profiles and keep only the newest one.

Thank you all for your help in the ad-hoc testing period.

We do plan to send out new pre-release app to some of the active members here to pilot the new features, either on this forum or on their own forum. This can only make the product better.

In any case we will send out new profile in case you have already removed the old one. Also it does not conflict with the purchase you had on iTunes - they can co-exist even though they totally look the same on your iPhone home screen ;-)

They font coexist. I installed the iTunes version and it over wrote my adhoc version.

OK, so one of you says it can co-exist, and the other says it cannot. What is the final verdict on this? Is there a special way to make this happen? I was just about to try this, but I am glad I read this first.

what version do u have now?

if u have the paid version just ad adhoc back

    then test it out

eiterh way u can always get adhoc or the paid version back

Right now, I have the app store version 1.1 installed via iTunes. I haven't tried to put the Ad Hoc version back on there.

If we (the more active users) are going to continue to test Ad Hoc versions (which I hope to be a part of) in the future, maybe the Dev Team will consider altering the icon of the Ad Hoc version in some way so we can tell the difference easier. I can't imagine that being too hard to do.

I'll try to put the Ad Hoc version back on here and let you know if it wipes out the official release.

I think iFonz is right as the app ID is the same (we didn't change it).

We will fix it from now on, and with different name e.g. "Tapatalk Ad-hoc"

    sounds great

like jman said a diff icon would be nice too.

OK, good to know. I still haven't had the chance to mess with this.
