Question on new iPhone OS

Now that they will finally have multitasking made available (as soon as the release of the new OS)... what plans do you have on taking advantage of the new features? Also what are the chance that we can upload a video from the iPhone? I know that when a picture is uploaded that it is cropped and I realize that a vid can be rather large but still the opportunity to post something like that could add tremendous benefits.

I also wanted to take a second and thank you fine folk. Tapatalk has made some major improvements from the time I first got involved with it. It really has made major leaps and is the talk all around the internet forums. Well done and thank you for the hard work, your ingenuity and dedication have shown through time and again.

Thanks for staying with us vaguard and be one of the fine folks here and being an early adopter.

In any case we are going submit a newer app to app store (yes again) to take advantage of multi-tasking feature. Speaking of picture/video we are evaluating how we can do it with third-party site like photobucket etc.

The goal is still the same to keep fine-tuning the app to be the best forum app on the planet. There are still a long list of TO-DO and issue list so you can see that we are sneaking in new features in the midst of bug fixes and so on.

I'd rather see picture upload to profile pic, avatar, and albums before video. Adding pic upload just makes this app even Nore stand alone. As of now users have to go to a PC to add a pic. I have peeps that use tapatalk 90% of the time. So having to get on a pc to add pics is frustrating for them.

I was pretty sure you guys would and was certain that it would open up avenues that would allow for combining of resources (other products and such) to expand Tapatalk's feature list. I wish there was some way engage this flash issue????? Apple's no support policy is fine but some apps and links require it.... oh well.

Speaking of picture/video we are evaluating how we can do it with third-party site like photobucket etc.

That may be the best idea... sites are different in their allocation of space but a major site would make it very easy for TT configuration and end user self management.

When I first used the app and recommended it, the reply was to me: Why bother I have a web browser don't I? Now, lol... it's incorporate it into the iPad and teather this to that but where is TapaTalk and do they have an update... can I shake my iPad to reply??? oh the list goes on... really word of mouth has gotten out. Looking forward to the updates and new features.

Guys, I have to congratulate you on a job well done with Tapatalk.
Before I stumbled into Tapatalk, I am using an iPhone app called Kaytri Forum Reader. You know you guys should give Kaytri a try to find out about your competition. You know what is Kaytri's strength?

    1. FAST FAST FAST! I don't know how they did it but the app is fast when loading forum and loading thread, even long threads. Granted, they are text based, but it is still fast. Tapatalk is slow in comparison.

    2. Kaytri remembers which subforum you are in after you quit the app. With Tapatalk 1.8.2 which I am testing, whenever I quit the app and launch it again (I don't have multitask as I am using 3G iPhone), Tapatalk put me back at the Accounts view.. and then I have to tap my forum, tap the subforum just to go back to read my favourite subforums.

    3. Thread list without preview. I know my forum well enough. I troll it every day. I don't need a preview of the post. Just give me a list of forums name and unread and I will be good!

Of course, Kaytri has a problem - ZERO developer support. No updates for the past 6 months. You guys have the edge here! So please keep up your good work and please optimize the app. I love it!

One more feature available in Kaytri which I hope will be made available in Tapatalk: reply with quote! Very useful.

Tapatalk is very fast. Maybe it's your data connection. Are you 3G?

The new update puts me right back to where I was previously.

    That would be a downgrade.

They've had this feature for a long time. Tap the post you want to quote and you'll see the "Quote" option.

Seems like you haven't sent a whole lot of time with Tapatalk. Spend some more time with it and learn all the features. Seems like you're here just to plug the other app.

Edit: I just checked out that other app. It is very basic. No way would I want to use that.

I bought this app and was using it for a bit and really liked it, but ever since I updated my phone to os4 it wont load a forum? I have already installed the update and it still wont load. It say the forum is closed? I asked the admins on the forum and they say there is no reason is shouldnt work on their end. any ideas?

    The forum is greenpassion.org

Ok... Got the quote now :) I didn't think of tapping on the post. Thanks.

I'm using a 3G phone but on wifi and Tapatalk is not as fast as Kaytri. Don't get me wrong. I like Tapatalk. I started with Kaytri and found it limited. And there's no dev support so I searched for another app and Tapatalk seemed decent. Indeed I didn't spend much time but I like what I see. I'm just suggesting some features. Are you saying I should not? I think we should all be open minded about suggestion.

Like how I haven't use Tapa long enough, you haven't use Kaytri long enough to appreciate how fast it is.

I can confirm once again that after I press the Home key and launch Tapa again, I'm brought back to the main screen and have to tap a few times to come back to the forum and the post. Remember I am on 3G phone and has no multitasking capability. So quitting and relaunching the app doesn't remember which thread/forum I was in.

i notice that with the latest version also. meant to bring this up

because it used to remember before

Due to a recent post by winter requesting board admin to run the latest plugin to plug a security hole, my board admin threaten to stop supporting Tapatalk :(

He said that in less than a week since he put this on, he saw 2 security updates! If this is going to be a continuous maintenance, he's calling it off.

And I bought Tapatalk just because of accessing this forum.

Here's another reason why Kaytri Forum Reader app is superior. It does not require plugin to the forum at all!!!

it was working for half a day but its not working again? I got 2 different messages this tie, one said its closed like last time and the other says the certificate is out dated or something like that?
  15. vaguard Wallyville Mayor

Tell him that if he feels that way then he shouldn't be involved with any type of software (especially Microsoft) since only the good companies release security updates and the others software companies just blame someone else.

For the love of pete: VBulletin, PHPBB, Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, IBM etc... all are playing the cat and mouse game with hackers. My root directory just got hacked and I have no idea how they got there. So I put in more changes and updates and await the next time. No one is totally secure on the net and I for one am grateful that Tapatalk steps up and produces security fixes rather than the normal operation of denial and blame. Anyway, hang in there because the benefits far out way the negatives... yes, far out way!

Hey yes I am not happy with the incident too. But to be honest it is the first and only infection issue that relates to Tapatalk since our commencement exactly one year ago.

I want to thank you guys to give us patience as we move forward and surely we treat security as our foremost priority.
