Great idea of having the Latest button but when I click on the post it takes me to the first post. Is that on purpose? So here I am clicking the Latest Post in a thread with 235 posts and it starts me with post #1...

There's no way in hell I'm going to go through 11-12 clicks just to get to the new post in that thread.

Edit: Aha, I see the "Show Newest Posts" button which makes it a lot less tedious but I still would have thought clicking on "Latest" and then selecting a thread would take me to the newest posts immediately.

Where do you see a "Show Newest Posts" button? All I see is a "Latest" button on the bottom task bar. Is that what you're referring to?

You really give us a great suggestion, we will think about how to make latest->post more friendly:)

    jUNKIE:

If a thread has more than 10 posts, when you click the small button at the top right corner of the screen, you can find the 'Show Newest Posts'.

Thanks Yao. For some reason I don't have that button. I uploaded the latest files to my forum, but evidently something is amiss.

Okay I subscribed to this Tapatalk thread and the "Show Newest Posts" shows up. For this button to show up what criteria must be met for the thread. I tested what Yao had said - If a thread has more than 10 posts, when you click the small button at the top right corner of the screen, you can find the 'Show Newest Posts' - but could not reproduce on my forum.

Another criteria that Show Newest Post will not show if your forum display items from latest to oldest by default. This is a vBulletin option both at the admincp site and the usercp side.

If you still have the issue and suspicious a bug, perhaps you can share with us which forum and specifically which topic has this problem, then we can take a quick look.

This is a problem that I have noticed too. My personal settings on all of my forums are to show the latest posts first instead of oldest to newest like many people prefer.

Is this something that cannot be supported, or is it just that it isn't supported "yet"?

    Jimmy,

Since your forum is to show latest posts first, the expected behavior on iPhone is also the same - show the latest posts first - and hence no "Show Newest Post" button.

Do you mean it doesn't show the latest posts first on iPhone when ur setting is set to latest posts first?

I have the same problem! my forum setting is to show the latest posts when we click on a topic name! but with iphone it shows the first page of the topic! and the button "show latest posts" appeared once but when I replied to the topic the button was gone and i was in the first page of the topic! :-? I think the best way is that when we click on a topic name, it'd show the latest posts of the topic:-? or maybe have this option in server / client app to set this...!

    Jimmy / Shayanb,

This should work - I just visited Shayanb site as Guest, the default is "oldest" to "latest". The order is displayed correctly (which is obvious since it is the default), see the timestamp

Since I don't have an test account and apparently I can't read Farsi - I am unable to create an account myself.

But I did a quick check on this forum where I changed my display order to "Latest to Oldest", see the timestamp

I would need either of you to show us the case then we can fix accordingly.

the default order is older to newest! the thing needed to be fixed is that when we go in a topic with tapatalk it should go to the latest posts (default one in VBulletin).

one suggestion is to have a setting for this! and have something like "First Page" and "Last Page" on somewhere in the screen when a topic has been opened!
