I asked the admin @ Slickdeals if they'd be willing to support Tapatalk and they had 3 primary concerns with Tapatalk. 1. Tapatalk is nice for browsing smaller forums, but bigger forums like Hot Deals. It quickly becomes painful to use. Pages are limited and not everything is fully integrated 2. Tapatalk is for general forum browsing, but doesn't include all the custom stuff like reps, voting, etc which many of our users want. We can't ever add stuff, since we're not in control of the App. 3. Login system is through a 3rd party, so we're not really even sure what they do with it and whether they can keep this information private. I can't seem to find their Privacy Policy, which isn't really reassuring. In particular, I'd be grateful if you could address concerns #1 and #3. How is authentication performed and what is your privacy policy.
the login has absolutely nothing to do with us and our server, it is the same fashion that you use your safari / mobile web browser to login. so rest assured it is as safe as using your web browser. the idea of tapatalk is to allow you quickly access your forums on-to-go, and sometimes it make sense to strip out some extra information that otherwise would be difficult to fit into small screen and provides better performance. it allows you post more otherwise you wouldn't with standard web-browser.
