I didn't realize until now that they have announced the release of OS3 for iPhone and iPod Touch set for June 17th. The iPhone 3G S will hit stores June 19th and will cost those who may want to upgrade early a pretty penny. If you are out of contract, the upgrade will cost $199 for the 16GB, and $299 for the 32 GB. The current iPhone 3G will be lowered to $99 as of now. If you are in contract, the upgrade will cost you $399 - $699! Isn't that nice of Apple and AT&T to screw the existing customers? Anway, here are some links to the new stuff: OS 3: http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/08/apple-shows-iphone-os-3-0-at-wwdc/ iPhone 3G S: http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/08/iphone-3gs-announced/
man i was watching that thing live on a few blogs. haha today was like xmas for me. haha i was hoping there were a few more surprises but oh well. i guess i wont be getting the 3gs no time soon. im not paying 499. haha id of paid the 299 for the 32gig
Well I was hoping they will trim down the existing iPhone such as removing the GPS to keep the cost even lower. We don't have the contract things here in china so everyone bought it at full price with their hard earned cash Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Where did you hear $499? The Apple website says $599 for the 16GB and $699 for the 32GB, and now you can get the regular 3G for $99. I might have paid $199 for the 16GB 3GS, but I won't pay more than that. The thing that really sucks is that they are unlocking OS3 features on the 3GS and not on the 3G.
early upgrade is 399 16g and 499 32g if u want to buy the phone with no contract then 499/599 what u mean no the 3g. we are getting the os 3.0.
Just checked out the 3gs its they just upgraded me to 6 gig data for what I pay a month which is nice, specially for development and testing. But to keep my plan I have to buy the new phone outright. Cringe, hoping it won't break the bank too much, however the new camera in 3gs makes it worth it for me. Still with everything we have planned with tapatalk and iphone this should be fun lol. I'm lookingward to the new os3 should be more fun to develop on it. Just hope the exchange rate for my currency doesn't push the cost over $400+ canadian.
