Was just wondering if tapatalk would ever support the forum system built into e107? Or any other CMS for that matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd be willing to give the developers unlimited access to an e107 site if they'd help me with this. My gaming clan consisting of roughly 200 members is moving away from phpBB & Drupal and going with e107. Main reason I got this app was to keep up with news and postings on our forums.
Never heard of it. Why do you prefer it over phpbb or vb? Just curious Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
we haven't looked into CMS support yet, at this moment we are focusing to get the "forum" in good shape. stay-tuned.
e107 is a Content Management System, or sometimes referred to as a Portal site. It is a way to create content pages and manage your website content all from one neatly organized package. So instead of having to edit HTML files, you use a similar text entry system to the one on this forum when creating a post. e107 has a forum system built into it. The reason we're switching to this, instead of using phpBB / vB as our forum, is so that we can have one database for all our site / member information. This is not possible if you use something like phpBB.
Hi all, I am also looking for e107 forum support also, I have been running the system for over 7 years, so a very well established website, however would be very difficult to move to other systems.
I would also like to see a way to access my e107 forums through this app. e107 is a content management system that provides more than just forums for a website. CMS packages such as e107 allow people to have many more features. The forums are just one plugin. There are other CMS packages like Joomla and Drupal. e107 does allow for a mobile version of the entire website, but using a Tapatalk app would be huge. We do have the ability to convert our forums to one compatible with Tapatalk. Its not quite ideal though because the appearance of the forums would not be consistent and there's a loss of functionality.
Unfortunately, after about 5 hours this fix failed. I would assume it has to do with the session ID that E107 paases to PHPBB3. E107 handles website authentication and passes that to PHPBB3 so users don't have to log in twice. PHPBB3 uses session security and that fails after a period of time with tapatalk.......so it doesnt work.....yet!! Sorry Richard
This may work with a site where the e107 forums are integrated with phpBB. My forums are strictly stand-alone e107. That's the core of the issue.
