Hey guys, My users and myself are all experiencing the same issue - I can't reply to existing threads or post new threads at all. It says we don't have permission? What'd I do wrong?
Hi meissen, Can you try this workaround: http://www.tapatalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130 If this solve the problem - then the next release pending from Apple has fixed this problem. Let me know how it goes. This is a hard nut to crack, or I should say good news for vBulletin forum owners that they did a good work in security. ;-)
Happy to hear that the software is so secure! I did do the work around before I even installed the software, though.
Hi Meissen, Check your PM! We are not able to reproduce your problem (with 1.2 app though) so would like you to have a test with 1.2 app (current one pending from apple)
Hi RWerksman, I am able to create new topic or reply to post on your forum ( find my posts at off topic sub-forum). Can you PM me your UDID I will send you a test 1.2 app to verify. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Winter, I just did some more testing with this and here is what I found: This seems to be related to the iPhone going to sleep again, as well as being logged in without being prompted for credentials (but previously logged in). If I log in (using credentials), I have no problems until the iPhone goes to sleep. The other problem is that if I go back in to the app and click on my site and I am not prompted for a password (last session still cached???), I have all sorts of permissions problems. I've also noticed that when I have these problems, I am not able to see my profile either, I know this because I go there to log out so I can enter my credentials and try again. This same thing is consistent across all three sites that I have in your network, and not just in restricted areas as it used to be. Another thing that I did notice while your dev team was doing some testing on one of my sites yesterday is that when they are posting from Tapatalk, they are not registering as "online" or "logged in". Could that be part of the session issue? Maybe if they were logged in (or at least if vBulletin thought they were logged in), this problem wouldn't occur?? (just an observation) By the way, this testing was done with Ad Hoc 1.2 and plugin 0.9.12
Thanks Jimmy!! I think we have reproduced it on your site, at least we see the error ("Unexpected error blah blah..") when tapping on My Info after a long sleep. Do you see this error on other screen too? BTW, the auto-login is a "feature" so you don't need to enter it every time you enter your forum.
I think the auto-login feature is great, but it seems to always be a part of this problem. To answer your question, I do see that error on other screens while this issue is occurring, on all three sites.
